I open my eyes and realise that I am still right here, where I’ve always been

By adminThursday - August 31st, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

Still waiting to hear from the printers.
Hopefully before the end of tomorrow.

I want to go to Sanctuary on Sunday, but it’s one of those long weekend things so it’s at the Red Room and therefore the cover charge is a) always in place and b) a whooping $10. I’ve heard rumour that’s because it runs longer than regular Sanctuary. I don’t know. Not that I want to get drunk mind you, I just would really like to get out and have a good time with dancing and what-not, then on my actual birthday relax and hang out with people.

It’s this whole MSP thing that’s really got me. Damn I wish I had some rich relative I could borrow money off of to pay my bills off and then pay back…at least at less of a price than $200 a month.Wishing, dreaming whatever. The fact is that I’m going to be paying someone back until I am very, very old. This is the simple reality of the situation.

There are many simple realities I have to accept….I am slowly coming to accept. Deal and continue on with life as best I can I suppose.

“This is the really real world, there ain’t no comin’ back man! There ain’t no comin’ back!”

Lyrics guessing game

By adminTuesday - August 29th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

How many of us know who sang this song?
It is one of my favourite songs by the band:

Just for the record
Lets get the story straight
Me and Uncle Tom were fishing
It was getting pretty late
Out on a cypress limb
Above the wishin’ well
where they say it got no bottom
Say it take you down to hell
Over in the bushes
And off to the right
Come two men talkin
In the pale moon light
Sheriff John Brady and Deputy Hedge
Haulin’ two limp bodies
Down to the water’s edge

I know a secret down at
Uncle Tom’s Cabin, oh yeah
I know a secret that
I just can’t tell

They didn’t see me and Tom
In the trees
Neither one believing
What the other could see
Tossed in the bodies
let ’em sink on down
To the bottom of the well
Where they’d never be found

I know a secret down at Uncle Tom’s Cabin
I know a secret that I just can’t tell
I know a secret down at Uncle Tom’s Cabin
Know who put the bodies in the wishing well

Soon as they were gone
Me and Tom got down
Pray’ real hard
That we wouldn’t make a sound
Runing throught he woods
Back to Uncle Tom’s shack
Where the full moon shines
Through the roof tile cracks

Oh my God, Tom, who are we gonna tell
The sheriff he belongs in a prison cell
Keep your mouth shut
That’s what we’re gonna do
Unless you wanna wind up
In the wishin’ well too

I would also like a wooden practice sword to the point where if I don’t get it for my birthday, I will purchase one later on in the month.

Lesser Self

By adminMonday - August 28th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

Today has too much stuff going on in it.
Today I pick up the proofs from the printer.
And today?
Today I say no.
Not to you and not because of you.
Today I am going to go into hiding.

Ridicule the Ridiculous

By adminSunday - August 27th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

She was placed on the rack and tortured for months on end.
Red hot pokers scorched her skin.
Barbs were wrapped around her chest tearing deep wounds into her.
And yet, somehow she survived.
She was then taken back to her cell and left there, presumably to die.
One day the baron came down to her cell to try one last time to get her to talk.
She still refused.
The baron sadly shook his head and said,”I’m sorry that I have to do this Milady”
He then took out a sewing needle and pricked her finger.

Sound ridiculous?
It should.

Broke but Happy

By adminThursday - August 24th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

For my birthday this year I will be merely staying at home watching whatever movies I borrowed from the library or maybe some of the ones I’ve bought but haven’t watched yet as I am completely broke.
This is something I could have avoided.
I could have said, “No, I’m going to put my hopes and dreams on hold for a while longer”
But I didn’t.
Today the comic book is sitting at the printer.
I am supposed to call at 10:30am tomorrow to see if I can pick up the proofs.
If not, then I’ll be picking up the proofs on Monday.
If all goes well then everything should be ready for pick up next Thursday.
See? Broke. But I accomplished something.

The final stages of labour

By adminThursday - August 24th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

I have in front of me my final proof of my comic book.
I don’t have to work.
I have money…not much….but enough to print an extremely small run.
It’s finally done.
Printed tomorrow (tomorrow being Thursday to all you people)
When I finally have a printed copy in my hand I will then celebrate.
Until then…I’ll be a nervous wreck.

Who’s going to be Miss Chrysanthemum?

By adminSunday - August 20th, 2006Categories: Uncategorized

I deserve more.
The world is not going to feed me with a silver spoon.
Never has.
I’m going to have to go and get it for myself.

On my way home from work I ended up meeting this guy named Bryce.
He likes vintage out of the ordinary bikes (of which mine qualifies)
And comics
He grew up in Toon town as well
He invited me to the next Comic Jam
Yay contacts!!!
