Third Time’s a Charm

By adminFriday - June 29th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I’m doing a quick post before I start work.

I’m feeling better than I did yesterday. (was sick)

Normally, I’d say I’m a jumble of mixed emotions. But I really am only feeling excited. I’m excited because Carol is coming down this summer for the PNE.
She told Darek’s dad that she’d never been on a rollercoaster before so then she got invited to the PNE.
This means that sometime this summer I’m going to be having a fourteen year old crashing at my place…yay?

The rest of my emotions are filled with apathy. That sounds a bit off because if it was true apathy I wouldn’t be driven to write about it. I guess the next best emotion would be disappointment. Somethings….some people…..

Because nothing is more awesome than drunken posts from random bars….hey, this part of the reason why I got the phone in the first place….on the fly posting baby!

You may well be wondering why I’m in random bars sitting on my phone posting….well it’s actually interesting watching people. Especially the lonely ones. this one girl sits quietly in a booth nervously playing with her hair.as she possibly waits for somebody. Next she fumbles through her purse in a desperate attempt to organise it. But wait, is it the lonely girl or the girl who is documenting it all on her phone who is more pathetic?
Time for one last fireball and then proceed on to somewhere food related…..

The Problems with Trying Too Hard

By adminThursday - June 21st, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I don’t know.
Maybe this is some sort of sick karmatic revenge….
But really…no really
Some people need to stop trying so hard.
It’s really difficult when you give someone even the slightest bit of attention and then they are all over you like a frickin’ lost puppy.
The next thought right after that is,”Oh my god, I hope I’m not that bad. Please shoot me if I ever get like that”
This has gone from nothing to huge overnight.
Waaaay too big and now I have to find my way out of this.
All the while, me going,”Do I act like this? Is this a reflection of me?”
I’m finding that I don’t like either extreme really.
A nice middle ground perhaps.
I don’t know.
But in the meantime maybe a brick will fall from the sky and I won’t have to deal with it.
No not a suicidal thought like one may at first assume…
More like….a brihickular homicide….
It was an accident…
Nobody could have seen the brick falling off the building and killing the poor bastard instantly.
And as I walk away from the horrible accident I would try not to breathe a sigh of relief.

P.S. If you can read this, this post isn’t about you. Hence the friend thing only…unless this person has hacked in…in which case, they deserve what they get.

Terror of the Eye Creature

By adminTuesday - June 19th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

Monday morning I get an email from my dad saying that on Father’s Day my mother was in surgery.
Apparently her retina decided to detach itself from the eye and the surgeon had to put it back on.
But not to worry there is a 75% success rate.
Now I have five minutes before I have to leave for work so, I sent in reply, an email full of “what the hell?!”
I spent my day at work wondering about all the things my Mother wouldn’t be able to share with me.
I even got to the point where I was thinking about closing my Flickr account, since my Mother was the one who invited me to get an account.
I talked to Eric and we agreed that my parents needed to get smacked, they live two provinces away and they are getting older….DON”T WORRY YOUR DAUGHTER!
So then when I get home from work there is an email from my Mother setting the record straight, that she “wasn’t quite dead yet” soon she might even go for a nice walk.
A few moments later I got a phone call from my Mom apologising for scaring me and letting me know exactly what the situation was.
What I’ve learned from all this?
My parents are crazy.
I love them.
But they are crazy.

Lurkers, Comics and Life…

By adminThursday - June 14th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

When I look at my journal and I look at my friends page, I wonder to myself, just who is reading this thing anyway?
Have the writers all turned into lurkers?
Putting in their 2 cents worth every once in a while?

—————————————

You know, I wish everything in life was as simple as putting out comic books.
(P.S. some store owners are &*$#%%^ by the way. I’m having Lugs flashbacks.)
I will get my comic into that store, even if I have to kill him to do it.
The Downtown Core will be mine damn it!
Then, Julie? I will need some help.

Song that’s been stuck in my head forever!

Dirty Pool, Mystery Pool, Dead pool

By adminTuesday - June 12th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I just found out the other day, that I have a pool in my building. I mean I suspected there was a possibility. But I never quite knew for sure until I saw the fire plan for the lower floor. It has a pool on the floor plan. Now for the next problem. The floor plan was poorly designed so I have no idea where it actually is in the building. Apparently there is also a weight room (which I was able to locate), but I still have yet to find this mystery pool. I guess I still have bragging rights…come over and enjoy my pool….once we find it.

Lord help me, I’ve just posted to the Engine that I have self-published three books and am about to make another one.
I’ve admitted it to the outside world….
I am a comic book creator.

P.S. I just finished scanning the last pages of I&L #2. Am now anxiously awaiting cover art.

(note to self: write letters to target stores in Toon town and Edmonton)

Lists, Quizzes and Anger

By adminTuesday - June 5th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

My DVDrom is dead…after only a week.
I will be done Isaac & Lee by the end of the week, leaving only the cover to do.
Once it’s done I’m thinking of taking a bit of a break from illustrating.
If I do anything it will be more scripts for my collaboration.
If I do form of drawing, it’ll be my father’s cunieform or some general doodles.

Work and Cleaning Day

By adminFriday - June 1st, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I am dismayed that my journal was not on the list of journals that got axed…even temporarily. I’m just not controveral enough I guess. (I will try again later)

Have to print off more comics. Tomorrow I plan to go around to all those places I had mentioned to drop them off. I also want to finish off the next issue of Isaac & Lee…then beg my cover artist to finish it off for me.

Before I go to drop off comics tomorrow. I must meet with someone in order to give him money for some very nice old occult books. He’s a dear man and I really miss his shop. Too little too late, but he is going on to better things and he still turns a great tale.

I need to have a nag button on behalf of my Dad. I really must get his cuneiforms done for him.

I have begun reclaiming my house…piece by piece. Soon it may actually look like a livable place! I just want to not have boxes everywhere is all. I want my house less cluttered and more homey. I hope to have this finished soon. Very soon.

“My truth is in the stars, yours is right here”
