Jimination

My son has been led astray. Nickelback. Nickelback! This *must* be fixed. He can’t keep on this way. I was worried something like this would happen. I need to expose Jimmy to the music that *led* to this. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. I can’t have him growing up without a better cultural experience of grunge and alternative rock.
In other news Jimmy is still a super geek when it comes to Star Wars. So it was a good call getting him the Dark Force hints and cheats book.
Although I am worried that he is turning into a power gamer. Maybe it’s just a phase…I hope.
All in all…he is still awesome.

Comix & Stories 2008

By adminWednesday - August 27th, 2008Categories: Uncategorized

I was sooo tired when I started out the day. Several days of two paying jobs and the third job of getting ready for the con makes for exhaustion on the final day. This year, in keeping with the idea of Comix & Stories I got inventive with the booth and made a decorative table cloth out of newspaper. Stephanie and I were sharing a table again (creators got half tables). We decided that we were the yin and yang of comics. She was yin. For the most part, the show went in rushes. One of the highlights was Robin Williams coming in. He looked at the books on my table and then thanked me as well as everyone else before leaving. Because the Krazy Festival was going to be winding up I bought a t-shirt. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. I got asked to submit some music oriented comics to a local newspaper (which I need to remember about for later) The afternoon went by fast, and before we knew it the fascist regiem, otherwise known as the Vancouver Art Gallery security, were ordering us out. We packed up as quickly as we could and went for dinner. (to be continued)

And so here is one of the sample pages for that graphic novel. The thing that’s been interrupting my other projects (just kidding, but only if I get the job).

Wow, a real work update!

By adminMonday - August 11th, 2008Categories: Uncategorized

So it’s like this. Now that I can get a quick breath…
It’s time to update my work list and get it straight for myself.
So I still have to finish up some sewing projects. I plan to set aside one project per week until they are done. So no big deal there.
Then there are the two current comic projects (so named because I am trying to finish them up before Comix & Stories on the 24th)
-Seed just needs to be proofed and then a final printing done.
-Isaac & Lee #3 – I’ve got maybe about 1/4 of it done…pencilled…thumbnailed actually. This is the big one that I simply just need to buckle down and belt out. Once I get them inked and editted I’ll post some panels.
But that’s pretty much it for now as far as work goes.
Will update as necessary and able.

Life’s A Funny Thing

By adminFriday - August 8th, 2008Categories: Uncategorized

It’s amazing how freeing it is when you are currently dealing with some of your worst fears. Everything else….pales. I don’t need to worry about worst case scenarios, I’m dealing with one right now. Sure it could be waaaay worse than it is right now. But I’m not afraid to deal with those instances. And my complete worst case scenario isn’t possible due to some of the participants being dead.

All in all, I’m busy but needing to take some time to spend with friends who I haven’t seen in forever. You know who you are.
