It’s spring and downsizing is in the air

By adminTuesday - March 13th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I am now going to be using Livejournal as an organiser.
It is spring cleaning time for me.
I need to get rid of a bunch of things.
There are a lot of things that I don’t need anymore.
There are a lot of things I don’t use anymore.
It’s time to get rid of them.
First I’m going to target areas.
I am also going to start a pile of things that need to go back to their owners, once I’m done organising I will post a list of people who I need to meet with to reclaim their belongings. They don’t have to go home, but they can’t stay here.
Tonight, I will hit the bookshelves.
There are books on there that I don’t read anymore.
Some of them are going to Deej, the rest I will write down on a list and post here.
They will be available until the end of the week, then I will be taking them to the local used bookstore and getting some credit.

Wednesday, going through desk (the sewing desk) and getting rid of things that I don’t need.
That and consolidating all of the material (and getting rid of the material I’m never going to use)

Thursday, organising desk area (paper shelf, printer area, and computer desk), entertainment centre, and livingroom drawers

Friday, doing laundry then organising bedroom (hopefully this doesn’t take longer than a day)

Saturday, kitchen, closets, bathroom and….*shudder*….the storage room.

Monday will be the massive lugging everything to St. Vincent de Paul

This is the plan. Hopefully.

Updates on the hour.

An Ode to My Media of Choice

By adminSunday - March 11th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I create comics. I write stories, I draw the pictures, the whole shabang. So when I read on the Engine about “Fuck Comics Night”
I thought, “Hey, I don’t hate comics, what have I got to add to that conversation?”
Until I read what they were saying. It was more of a pet peeve of comics and the industry. I started reading and got all worked up. Then I got to the point where I wanted to post. Only to find that the thread had been locked down, and with good reason. But now I’m filled with frustration and must inflict this frustration on people, therefore here it is, my list (in no particular order) of pet peeves of comics and the industry.

An Addendum

By adminTuesday - March 6th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I just realised that I also need to update all of my comic sites as well.
When will I fit the time in?
I don’t know.
It’ll happen.

Which Way is Up?

By adminTuesday - March 6th, 2007Categories: Uncategorized

I figured I’d just write down main points in my life right now, in no particular order.
My daughter’s impending graduation, my son and his poor drawing self-esteem, worrying about my parents and how they are/aren’t dealing with my aunt’s death, relationships with my friends and significant others? Damn, I hope everything is okay. If not then they are going to have to tell me because I’m pretty much in another world right now. Uhm, at this time I tell them all that they are still awesome.

Then we get to my work detail. Now, when I say work I don’t mean my day job slinging coffee, I mean my comic book job. I have whole bunch of distributing to do for Isaac & Lee. I still need to drop off books at Spartacus, I need to call Taz and see if I can drop off some there, same with The Comic Shop, Comicland and that other one that’s downtown (who’s name escapes me but it’s not Golden Age). Then I need a comic for Sam, Ken, Jaclynn, and Yoshie. I only have four printed out right now….this could present a problem.
As far as distribution goes, I need to do some distributing of the minicomic that got the good review in Broken Pencil to all the places I mentioned as well as a copy to Julie.

Then I come to the more creative aspect of my work list.

I just finished all the image editing for the inside of The Guardian, now I just need to do the cover and then it’s on to the final layout.

Meanwhile, I just finished the rough layouts for Isaac & Lee issue# 2. Of course this means that soon my editor must rear his ugly head once more and tear everything apart with his red pen of DOOM. Yay!

Then it’s back onto writing script for the collaboration. The artist finished the rough layouts for the first issue, so now it’s time for me to more writing before he catches up to me.

Hmmm….I also have to get my taxes done. Yes, I’ll find the time.
